Selection Process
The Infosys recruitment process for the role of System Engineer has the following rounds.
1. Online Test 2. Technical 3. HR Interview
Qualifying Round (60 minutes, 40 questions)
The Qualifying Round will assess your aptitude as well as your programming and database management skills. There are going to be 40 multiple choice questions to answer in 60 minutes on the test.
There are three sections to the questions:
- Section I – 20 questions – Java/Python
- Section II – 10 questions – Database Management Systems
- Section III – 10 questions – Aptitude
A correct answer will earn you one mark, whereas an incorrect answer will receive a negative marking of 0.25 points.
Final Round (3 hours)
The Final Round will consist of objective and practical questions that must be solved in three hours.
There are three sections to the questions:
Section I – Java/Python - Hands-on – 2 questions
Section II – Java/Python - Multiple Choice Questions – 10 questions
Section III – Database Management Systems – 10 questions
Marking System: There will be no negative marks.
If you get a 65 percent or more on this Round, you will be an 'Infosys Certified Software Programmer.' You will also be invited to an Infosys behavioural interview for the position of Systems Engineer.
Advantage Round (3 hours)
- This Round is an advanced test that evaluates your programming and other technical abilities.
- It comprises three programming-based questions of varying difficulty levels to be answered within three hours.
- The weighting of marks for each question will be different, and it could be around 225 marks.
- Students who pass the Advantage Round will get an opportunity to a pre-replacement interview for either a Power Programmer or a Systems Engineer Specialist position based on the performance in this rounded.
- During the interview, recruiters will assess the technical and behavioural skills of the candidate for these positions.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
If you are found to be indulging in malpractice at any stage of the Infosys Certification programme, including but not limited to appearing for multiple certification exams using different or fake credentials, Infosys will invalidate your Infosys Certification and the job offer with immediate effect.
7. Exam Pattern and Test Syllabus
The System Engineer post will have a 100-minute test with 54 questions in the newly revised Infosys Online Test Pattern. The detailed pattern is as follows.

8. Interview Process
Infosys' interview process includes both technical and HR rounds.
Infosys Technical Interview
1. You will be expected to know C, C++, and Java inside and out.
2. Basic technical questions in C, Java, SQL, and other programming languages will be asked.
3. You may be asked the following questions:

Infosys HR Interview
The purpose of the Infosys HR Interview is to assess your communication skills and confidence. The following are some of the most frequently requested questions in this Round:

9. Important Guidelines
- System Requirements
- Ensure that the desktop/laptop you plan to take the online test meets the system requirements listed below. It is not suggested that you take the test on your phone or tablet.
- 4GB RAM, i3 Core processor or higher
- Webcam that works
- Google Chrome browser latest version with pop-up blocker turned off
- It is not suggested that you take the test using any other web browser.
- A reliable internet connection with a download speed of at least 2 Mbps and an upload speed of at least 1 Mbps is required.
- Ensure that there is an uninterrupted power supply for the entire duration of the test.
Location and other Requirements
- Choose a location where you will be unaffected for the entire duration of the test.
- There must be no writing or images of individuals on your desk or the walls around you.
- It is best if the environment is as silent as possible. Make that there is no background noise, such as music, television, or people chatting.
- The room's lighting should be bright enough to be considered "daylight quality." It is best to have overhead lighting if possible.
- Make sure you are sitting in a comfortable chair and that you are sitting up straight. Your face should be visible so that it can be captured on the camera at all times. Partially visible faces will be considered a breach of the test's guidelines.
- Make sure there is no one around in the area. You will be disqualified from the Infosys Recruitment Process if anyone else is found apart from you in the frame of the video captured.
- During the test, the use of online communication applications are strictly prohibited. Before you begin the test, close all programmes and applications, including communication applications such as Skype, Microsoft Teams, and others.
- Mobile phone use for any reason other than mobile hotspot and tethering is prohibited and will result in rejection from the Infosys Recruitment Process. You are allowed to bring stationery items to the test. Calculators and other similar gadgets are not permitted during the examination.
- Do not leave the test screen until it is finished. Switching from the test screen to another window will be considered a violation of the test's code of conduct and will be tracked automatically.
- Login within 15 minutes of the test slot time as the login window will only be open for 15 minutes once the test period begins.
If the test is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., for example, you must log in and begin the test by 10:15 a.m. You cannot take the online examination for the Infosys Recruitment Process if you miss the login window. No exceptions are allowed in this case.
Behavioural Guidelines
As the test is web-proctored for the entire duration and you will be on camera, make sure you do the following:
- You must dress formally
- You must not use any form of external audio equipment, including headphones or earphones.
- You are not permitted to communicate with any other person in any way.
- You must not leave the video during the exam for any reason.
Important note: The candidate's application will be cancelled if any malpractice or violation of instructions is discovered during the test. They will be removed from the Infosys hiring process.

- Attested photocopies of SSLC, HSLC, Diploma, and Degree semester mark sheets for verification
- Four passport-sized photos
