  • HR Round

It is not easy to get a job at Deloitte. However, if you prepare correctly, you may significantly improve your chances of success.

Round 1. Written Test

An online assessment test is an initial step in the selection process. Those who pass this examination will advance to the next round.

Quants: The candidate's mathematical ability will be evaluated throughout this section. Time, Speed & Distance, Number Series, Simple & Compound Interest, Probability, Permutation & Combination, Ratios & Proportions, Percentages, Algebra, and other topics are covered in the Quantitative Aptitude section.

Logical Reasoning: This portion will test the candidate's ability to think critically and logically. In this part, you will be graded on the following topics: Data Sufficiency, Data Interpretation, Data Arrangements, Logical Word Sequence, Statements and Inferences, Inequalities, Coding, Decoding, Series, Analogy and Visual Reasoning, Number series, Blood relations, Pattern recognition, etc.

English: This section will assess the candidates' ability to communicate in English. This section's questions will cover various topics, including spotting the errors, sentence improvement, sentence completion, speech and voices, tenses, articles, synonyms and antonyms, and more.

SectionsNumber of QuestionsDuration
Quantitative Aptitude14 Questions20 minutes
Logical Reasoning14 Questions14 miutes
Verbal Ability20 Questions18 minutes
Total50 Questions52 minutes

Round 2: Group Discussion

All selected candidates will be divided into groups, with each group being presented with a CASE STUDY. And the group must come up with the best solution/answer for the given case. Also, because the Case Study is never duplicated, do not rely on it. In this round, the majority of the candidates are shown the door. This round is not difficult, but it is a little challenging.

You will get 10 minutes to prepare your ideas and discuss them with your peers. Then you will be asked to begin your GD, which will last approximately 20 minutes. After the discussion, you might be asked simple questions based on the discussion.

It is recommended that you have established proper and intelligent problem-solving skills and a decent command of the English language. Rather than overcoming an issue for a short amount of time, try to find an efficient solution. The catch is that the GD they perform is not your typical GD, where you will have to discuss current events. It is based entirely on a case study.

Any market scenario can be given as a case study.

1. It could be a well-known company looking to set up a manufacturing or distribution unit in a different country.

2. It might be a company that wants to introduce a new product or service.

3. It might be a company that is experiencing diminishing profitability as a result of increased competition.

4. It could be a company that wants to upgrade its existing technology.

5. It might be a firm that wants to increase sales or gain market share.

6. It could also be a company that wants to restructure its product and service pricing.

7. It could even be a company looking to invest in a new venture

8. It might be a company that wants to cut costs.

Qualities that recruiters seek in candidates

First and foremost, the ability to communicate with others.

Secondly, you should be familiar with economic ideas and terminologies that apply to all case study analyses (for example, revenue = total profit received + total cost incurred; cost-based pricing or price-based costing; 4P; 5C).

Also, your ability to start or end a group discussion. This demonstrates your leadership abilities and ability to persuade others to listen to you. Also, when wrapping up the GD, do not forget to go over all of the important issues that were discussed, including the analysis and solutions.

Technical Interview

Candidates who pass the group discussion stage will be called for a face-to-face technical interview. Technical interviews are meant to assess your technical abilities – which are usually specific to the role you are seeking – and know how you think, solve problems, and handle stressful situations.

You should expect to be asked various coding and non-coding technical interview questions to assess your technical abilities. According to the interviewer, your technical knowledge and skills should fulfill the job requirements. It is also possible that you will be asked to write code. The interviewer will also evaluate your problem-solving abilities. You will be questioned about your previous projects and experiences, what you did and how you have used technology and your level of success. You should be able to describe to the interviewer computer essentials such as OOPS, DBMS, CN, OS, and so on. Knowing how to program in a specific language is essential. You do not have to be an expert in every programming language, but you should know at least one, C++, Java, or Python.

Your success in earlier rounds, your job profile, your experience, and the company’s demands will all influence the result of your technical interview.

HR interview

An HR interview is conducted to evaluate your personality, strengths, shortcomings, and ability to handle the role and examine your background and determine if you are the right fit for this position. After passing the technical interview, candidates will move on to the HR phase. They can also ask about Deloitte's history, including when the firm was established, its goals, principles, and organizational structure, among other things. As a result, being well-prepared for the HR interview is important.

Review your resume to ensure that you have included all relevant personal information and that the information you have provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge. If you are asked a question, respond with confidence and honesty.

Note: The following information is usually asked in interviews
